Living in my Skin Panel Discussion
Texas A&M San Antonio prides ourselves as an inclusive campus with a community of many cultural intersections amongst our faculty, staff, and students.  Back in November/December, we were approached by local artist Lionel Sosa to partner with him on his latest project called “Living in My Skin:  Black men in San Antonio tell their stories.”  In collaboration with Executive Producers Brandon Logan and Seymour Battle, we are excited to share with you that we will be hosting this exhibit 20  portraits of the 33 in the exhibit of Black men on our campus February 1st-10th in the Ceremony Room.

We will kick off this exhibit by hosting a panel on Friday, January 29th at 6 pm with Lionel, Executive Producers Logan, and Battle as well as two members of our campus community.  Dr. Ernest Thomas, Special Education Lecturer in the Department of Educator and Leadership Preparation, and student Michael Johnson, who was a member of our first freshman class in 2016 and has earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Business from our institution at a young age of 22.  As a gift to the University, Lionel has painted portraits of Dr. Thomas and Michael Johnson which we will proudly hang on campus.  More information will be provided through campus announcements as well as our African American Heritage Month website.
